A bridal session is one of our favorite sessions here at Chasity Beard Photography. While we LOVE weddings, there is just something special about spending time with the bride before her big day.
Before we go into WHY you should consider a bridal session, let’s talk a little bit about what a bridal session is. A bridal session is an old tradition that takes place prior to the wedding day. This session focuses solely on the bride. She is dressed in her wedding dress and usually wears her hair and makeup as she plans to on her wedding day. Many brides choose to display a large portrait from the bridal session at the reception.
Reasons why you should consider a bridal session:
1. It is the perfect time for a “dress rehearsal” – Who doesn’t want an excuse to wear their wedding dress more than once?! You spend so much time picking out the your dream dress, so why not get all glammed up for a portrait session! A bridal session is the perfect time to see all of the elements put together. It is so fun seeing how your hair and makeup will look with your dress and gives you the opportunity to change anything that doesn’t look quite the way you envisioned. Some brides may choose to wear their hair a different way or they may decide that they want to make some changes to their bouquet. Or, you may see that everything is absolutely perfect!
2. Save time on your wedding day for couple portraits – While we will still take lots of photos of just you on your wedding day, we will have more time for other photos since you chose to do a bridal session prior to the wedding.
3. Posing practice – Like your engagement session, a bridal session gives you the opportunity to be more comfortable in front of the camera and practice posing in your wedding dress. You will be a pro on your wedding day!
You spend so much time planning out your bridal look, so it makes sense to dedicate 1-2 hours of bridal photography to capture all of the details! Plus, bridal sessions are always so much fun!
